Friday night the boy and I headed over to Dallas to take in an evening of outstanding high school hoops at SMU. On the way over my eleven year old asked me if we would would see anyone I knew. Hawks In Big Time Mood Friday Night

Sportsdate 2 – 18 – 2009

The Pleasant Grove Hawks basketball team are headed to SMU’s Moody Coliseum Friday night to play class 4A Lancaster in a warm-up game. The Hawks won’t take the court until 10:30 pm in the last game of five that evening at Moody.

At 7:30 the two top ranked teams in the metroplex Duncanville and Cedar Hill square off to settle their district championship. At 9:00 one of the nation’s top teams a private prep school named Findlay out of Nevada will play God’s Academy of the DFW metroplex. Findlay is led by Texas recruit Avery Bradley. Also on the card are North Crowley, Highland Park, Sherman, and Dallas Pinkston.

It is expected five to six thousand people will attend the five game hoopfest. It will be high hoop cotton for the district champion Hawks.

Tarnished Gold

Lucky for Olympic hero Michael Phelps that the tabloid in England chose Super Bowl Sunday to print the picture of him smoking pot.
