Signs Of Life
Sportsdate 2 – 29 – 2008
What better day than leap day than to take a leap of faith. I am in with the new Mavs. Even with Devin Harris walking onto the court for the first time with Jersey last night, and lighting up the Bucks for 21. I watched the Mavs give one away to the Spurs last night, but saw a flicker of the Mavs from two years ago. Read the rest of this entry »

Old Kidd In Town
Sportsdate 2 – 20 – 20008
I just got through watching Jason Kidd’s debut part deaux. I lived in Dallas during Jason’s last reign of terror, and the same scary shot he left town with is still there. I know Tim Cowlishaw of the Morning News, and Randy Galloway of the Star Telegram shared with their readers today why this is a good move, I still have my doubts. Read the rest of this entry »

Unrewarded Courage
Sportsdate 2 – 16 – 2008
This one should have been written a couple of days ago, but I have just not wanted to face the computer to write it. One of my favorite things in life is to see courage rewarded. This past week, I witnessed what appeared to be the opposite. Read the rest of this entry »

Are You KIDDing Me?
Sportsdate 2 – 13 – 2008
Marc Stein of ESPN is reporting the Mavericks are finalizing a deal that would bring Jason Kidd back to Big D. A dozen years ago I agrued that the Mavs should take Grant Hill with their one and only first draft pick in the NBA draft in their history. I am no more excited to see Kidd come to Dallas then I was back then. Read the rest of this entry »

Now That’s What I Call A Super Bowl
What a game! It’s funny how so many people wanted so badly to see the Pats make history, and how many people wanted equally badly to see them stopped. And it’s sad that the same people who were proclaiming them the best team in history will now not even consider them in the top 50. I mean think about it… if Plaxico Burress drops that touchdown at the end, then the Pats are the greatest team in history. But he caught it, so they’re not even as good as any of the previous NFL championship teams. There’s something very wrong with that logic. Read the rest of this entry »

From Patriots To Giants
Sportsdate 2 – 3 – 2008
That is why I love sports. In back to back years the sons of a man whose own career was filled with pain and heartache can quarterback their teams to Super Bowl victory. Perfect can come so close that you can taste it, but it turns out to be a mirage. That old men in south Florida can still tell their grand children they once did something that no one else has ever done. That for about four hours once a year we can come together to root for our gladiators, and laugh at our capitalism. Read the rest of this entry »

LE 70 PG 63
Sportsdate 2 – 1 – 2008
Two weeks ago the kids from Pleasant Grove fans taunted the Liberty Eylau fans with “LE you ain’t what you used to be.” Tonight the LE fans should have returned the favor over at the Grove with “PG your not what you seemed to be.” Read the rest of this entry »
