Note To Self: I-Bowl Annual Event
Sportdate 12 – 31 – 2007
The boy and I just got back from the Petro Sun Independence Bowl over in Shreveport. It is after midnight, but my son’s comment coming in the back door made me want to leave myself a note before bedding down for the night. Read the rest of this entry »

Who’s Gonna Win… And Why: Week 17
New England at NY Giants: I think the Giants will play well Saturday night, and if they can avoid turnovers, they can stay in the game, but if they want to win, they’ll have to pressure Tom Brady. The Giants have a great pass rush, but the Pats really protect that guy well. That should be the key matchup in the game. Of course, you never know whom the Giants might rest since the game won’t affect their playoff position. And the Pats will probably keep all their starters in and go for the perfect season. I’ll take the Pats. Read the rest of this entry »

Heading To The Kingdom
Sportsdate 12-27-2007
The boy and I will be heading out today for a trip to see King James (LeBron James). He makes his once a year appearance in Dallas tonight at American Airlines Center. Few things will pull my son and I away from a Longhorn bowl game on the tube, but a chance to see LeBron in person will mean the DVR will have to capture the Holiday Bowl for us. Championship Saturday II
12 – 22 – 2007
I think I have contracted recliner sores. Two 5A championship games and a Cowboy game in one day is a bit much even for me. Katy, and Celina do the expected and win the 5A and 3A championship games to end the 2007 Texas high school football season. Read the rest of this entry »

Who’s Gonna Win… And Why: Week 16
Pittsburgh at St. Louis: The Rams are not as bad as they were right after they lost their offensive line, but they’re still not where they want to be. The Steelers have struggled on the road, but I think they’re the better team in this matchup. They should be able to play Steeler football, running the ball, working the play-action and pressuring the other QB. I’ll take the Steelers. Read the rest of this entry »

Observations on week 15
I have to give a lot of credit to the Jags. They went to Heinz field in Pittsburgh for a game in the snow, played smashmouth football and beat the Steelers at their own game.
After the media crowned Matt Schaub the hero of the Houstons Texans, they’re now giving their love to Sage Rosenfels. If the Texans continue to win this year, then next season when Schaub comes back, there’s gonna be a problem. Read the rest of this entry »
