Who’s Gonna Win… And Why: Week 4

Scott's Picks for this weeks games. Add your own or comment on what you readGreen Bay at Minnesota: The Vikings defense is only allowing 67.3 rushing yards per game, and only 2.5 yards per carry. And the Packers are only averaging 57 rushing yards per game, and only 2.9 yards per carry. So, despite getting Vernand Morency back, look for the Packers to throw the ball early and often, just running enough the keep the Vikings honest. And I expect the Pack to move the ball well through the air against this Vikings defense. On the other side of the ball, the Adrian Peterson Show will keep depending on their super-back, but I doubt it will be enough. Backup QB Kelly Holcomb will have to find a way to throw the ball down the field, but he’s faced with the problem of having 2 starting WRs who aren’t as good as the CBs they’re matched up against. And if the Packers can get a lead, they can take the Adrian Peterson Show out its comfort zone and force them into interceptions. I’ll take the Packers. Read the rest of this entry »

Observations on week 3

Okay, new rule: The Vikings offense shall no longer be called the Vikings offense. From here on out, they shall be referred to as the Adrian Peterson Show. Because that’s all they are. He got the ball on 48% of their plays and gained 59% of their net yardage. He looked great, but he could use a few teammates. So far this year, Peterson has provided 49.7% of his team’s net yardage. I’d say that’s kind of a lot for a rookie. As for the Chiefs… they can’t run the ball. They look awful trying. If it weren’t for the Vikings inablility to move the ball with anybody other than Peterson, the Chiefs would’ve lost a home game. Read the rest of this entry »

Cowboys vs. Bears Live Blog

Sportsdate 9-23-2007

1)Our Boys versus Lovie Smith and Nathan Vasher’s Bears in prime time, this should be good. It has got to be better than these uniforms the Redskins are wearing in these highlights. Hang around and I’ll add some commentary until the child bride tells me it’s time to turn out the lights. Some how I don’t think Dandy Don ever got the signal from his lovely bride.
