A ‘Sport’ Like No Other
With 5 teams in the Top 10, The SEC is yet again leading the way in the NCAA. I am not talking about Basketball, Baseball or Track. The “sport” that I witnessed occurs Friday nights and the results are in the hands of judges. Read the rest of this entry »

Hogs Slop Through Coaching Search
I have never heard so many names mentioned before for one coaching job, not to mention that the search has only been going on for a little over a week. How and why the University of Arkansas continues to do this during coaching searches is beyond me. The whole state of Arkansas knew that Heath would be gone after last year, but did the powers that be? It sure didn’t look like it, as they stumbled through a roller-coaster search and the reign of the shortest tenured head coach in Arkansas history, Dana Altman. Luckily, the U of A ended up with a gem in John Pelphrey. But will Football do the same? Read the rest of this entry »

Press Conference at 6:30
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – An announcement regarding the future of the Arkansas Razorback football program has been scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Monday in the Raymond Miller Room located in the Broyles Athletic Center University of Arkansas Chancellor John A. White, Men’s Athletic Director Frank Broyles and Head Football Coach Houston Nutt will be in attendance. University of Arkansas officials will not offer additional comment prior to the announcement.
Satellite television trucks should park in lot 44 west and run cables through the door located at the bottom of the hill near the entrance to the Miller Room.
I will hopefully be in attendance and will provide ya’ll with some video.
I think it is interesting that the University said that they wouldn’t decide anything about Nutt until New AD Jeff Long met with Houston Nutt in the middle of this week. Long has yet to met with Nutt to discuss his future. Preliminary word is that either an extension and raise will be given or that Nutt will be leaving for Georgia Tech. Stay tuned for more information as it develops.
UPDATE: It is official. Houston Nutt resigns as head coach of the Arkansas Razorbacks. Former Defensive Coordinator Reggie Herring was named interim Head Coach for the bowl game. New AD Jeff Long will be in charge of the hiring. The crowd at the Press Conference was eerily somber. Darren McFadden, after the Press Conference, was too upset to comment to the media. The search will get interesting, as well as the fallout from recruiting and transfers of current players.
Early word has Arkansas looking at Tommy Tuberville, from Auburn.

Thank God For Mississippi
A saying that is usually used to exemplify Arkansas education, can now be used to describe Razorback football. It seems so long ago that the Razorbacks were atop the West and in control of their own destiny, but after 3 straight blown 4th Quarter leads, Arkansas was sitting 0-3 in SEC play. That was until Ole Miss rolled around on the schedule. Read the rest of this entry »
